Dear Lt Col Weston
On behalf of the RNZA Association may I thank you and your Officers, Warrant Officers,NCOs and gunners for hosting us on Exercise Ben Cat at Waiouru on Saturday 17 August 2013.
The day was once again truly memorable; the weather was typically Waiouru, sun shining one minute and rain, wind and cold next . . .

KINGI, Whangaroa Haunui Dennis (Kare). F479095. RNZA. Passed away at home, 14 August 2013, aged 65. Kare will lay in state at Waingaro Marae. Service to be held on Saturday 17 August, 11am.

Bevan is a 161 Bty Vet and he was RSM 16 Field Regiment. Bevan has been suffering ill health for a while and the doctors cannot really pin down what it is. Originally suspected as an onset of dementia and Parkinson's Disease, they are now not sure.
Chris Turver was there when tragedy struck. Now he looks back on his time with 161 Battery in Vietnam . . .

RSA Centenary programme - War Pension Act rewrite - RSA image to younger veterans - National events - RSA club failures - 60th Anniversary of the Armistice in Korea - Restructuring National Office
Delegates of some 15 RSA-affiliated organisations attended this meeting which was hosted by Lt Gen (rtd) Don McIver, National President of RNZRSA. During the meeting, a number of newly appointed staff of the RNZRSA National Office were introduced to the meeting. These people had been appointed following a review and restructuring of the National Office.
In his opening remarks, Don McIver highlighted a number of events and occasions:

The final amount standing in the account is $2780.00, including a $500 contribution from the Association. These funds have been forwarded to the Funeral Directors and the appeal is closed. Thanks to all those who were able to donate.
